I'm sorry but I just never had a hankering for balls. Taste good or not...I feel the vomit rising up my esophagus as I type.
LOL FYI: The website of testyfest or whatever shows what happens to people who eat balls...they turn into white trash who streak at public festivals/carnivals. They also forgone bathing for some reason.

Most animals are castrated at an early age so the "oysters" are a manageable size. We in Maine always ate them, though it was not a common practice among the urban masses. I raised sheep for 25 years; I had a customer who would take all the "oysters" he could get, but I managed to save out a few for the family! Of course you slice them and dip them in breading or batter, like fritter batter. Mmmm!

I dont know where you come from but here in Kentucky, mountain oysters are Deer testicles. They can also come from bulls or boars depending upon where ya live. Very tasty fried up kinda like little sausage balls and believe me you would never know they were testicles unless someone actually told you. I know I made that mistake and ate them one day and thought I was eating sausage. Still good tho.

There are more people that eat this delicacy than you would think. I prefer not. I have a friend that will not eat meat except the the innards of animals and pig feet, ears, tails, etc; She loves vegetables and has lived a longtime on her diet. Personally, I don't think I could handle it.

i've had them raw, in ceviche and breaded. I just like the really tiny ones, the big ones seem to have too strong of a taste for me, lol!

I haven't tried them, but I think given the opportunity I would at least taste them. And my husband would definitely want to try them!
Don't know if I'd like them though (my hubby probably would)
and yes, I DO know what they are!

Living in Montana myself for nine years, you eventually have to break down a try them. There not as bad as they sound. In fact, I prefer them to alot of the wild game meat we have here (ie: moose, antelope, etc...)
