I am a girl and im constantly comparing myself to other girls, cutting pictures out from my magazines and it pretty much has ruined my life. i always feel discouraged when i see gorgeous girls cuz it makes me feel ugly...i know it sounds stupid and wierd but i think its a psychological/genetic disorder or something...i've heard of this disease called body dysmorhpic disorder and i think it might be that becuz i have a birthmark (port wine stain or something) on my forehead that has been pointed out by people multiple times which makes me more self-consious and worried that everyone is staring at me and passing negative judgements about me. I also have a white spot on my face thats noticable and embarrassing too...i just want to know what you guys think i should do because i can't seem to gain any confidence like this... i speak in a deep voice from a lack of confidence which makes me look even more weird..and im basically depressed and anxious all the time.any ideas of what i should do

wearing a light foundation makeup might help to boost your confidence. Once you get older you will see that looks are not so important but when your young its a big deal. Hold your head up high and pretend to be confident, others will start seeing you that way and before you know it, you will be.

I have delt with the same problem for the longest time, some times I will wake up and actually feel a little bit cute and some times well most of the time im like god I look like crap and I think that alot every one has somthing ugly about them even the models in the magizines find some one that you think is pretty and look close at them you will notice things that are not so cute for example some girls have big noses lindsey lohan has too many freckles, have you ever seen tyra banks with out makeup......you dont want to I am sure that you are a really beautiful person, there isnt much you can do about the way you look so try chaning your attitude insted of saying I have an ugly birthmark say you know what I have beautiful eyes or nice straight teeth, any thing like that it helps good luck

There are cosmetics that will cover a port wine stain, much easier for a girl to do than a man. Abby says to do what you can to fix any problem, and then:
Throw your shoulders back, walk straight and erect. Walk briskly, confidently. When you stand, put one foot forward and slightly in front of the other. And smile. Then look at other people: Big hips, big legs, bird legs, fat stomachs, stringy hair, weak eyes, bad teeth, big ears, rough skin, bald heads, and be thankful you don't look like them.

This just sounds like you have poor self-confidence. It does not sound like you have anything wrong with you, other than maybe an emotional and spiritual vacuum. Dr. Susan Jeffers talks about "somebody training" vs. "everybody training." Somebody training is based on flaws, competition, ratings, and doing whatever you can to become somebody. It tends to be externally focused. The problem is that this never really works. It fosters competition and destroys the ability to connect with others. Most people are not concerned about what "somebody trained" persons focus on, they are either looking to see if someone is secure and together, or they are preoccupied by their own somebody training. The opposite of that is everybody training that recognizes that we are all in the same boat and that there are no strangers, only friends we have never met.

Stop thinking the people in the magazines are perfect and gorgeous, they have imperfections just like you and the whole world but they just have professionals working on them and covering them with make-up. Don't get down on yourself if you really don't like your birth marks then put some foundation on them and that should make them less visible ;) Stand up tall and be proud of who you are!!! Speak in your normal voice and stop talking in a deep tone, that's not gonna make you feel better.
I hope this helps you out!!!! Good luck, and have fun with life!! :)

The words of the answer are all in this question . You are a girl and everybody is staring at girls. They aren't staring at guys and guys are less upset if they don't match the book models. There are many guys who need a make over . Be more light-hearted and less demanding. You don't need the class winners to want you. You will never be like them. You don't even want to do what they do in the huddle. Be happy in a safe place in your own group.
