I went to a party on NYE with some friends and met a nice guy, got to get to know him, etc. He tells me that I'm the kind of girl that's a filet mignon--not like a hamburger which a guy can have anytime he wants, but something special. So I'm thinking, ok, maybe he'll ask for my number. He knew that I'm a virgin and plan on staying that way. Then he asks for my friend's number instead of mine! What would posess someone to say something like that, then ask for someone else's number? (She did say that she has done it with her ex bf, would this have made a difference?) I'm just trying to understand why someone would say something like that, and then not follow up on it.

Even if he did find a way to call me now, I wouldn't go out with him. He had his chance that night.

take it as a complement what he was trying to say to you with out saying it(a thing most guys do) is he thought you were beautiful and not like the other girls. He respected you for keeping your virginity. thinking this, he had no idea how to handle the situation he's never came across a girl with morals and class. so instead of venturing into new emotional grounds he resorted to what he knew (girls that are not up to your standards) keep up the good work it sounds to me your parents are doing/did a fine job on raising you!!.................PS he could of been a vegetarian(just kidding)

He thinks you would make a very good catch for someone looking for a long-term, loving relationship or marriage. That's not what he's looking for right now, he's cruising for a sex or a sexual relationship that he knows he won't get from you. He's respectful of the fact that you intend to remain a virgin, so he won't even bother to try and pursue a relationship with you.

Good for you on the decision to not go out with him. This is a backhanded compliment. ....that at the same time tells you that you are too good for this guy.....he obviously can't afford fillet Mignon......Trust me, although you did not get this guy take away a positive thing from it.

He meant that you were a top of the line girl. You were almost perfect, but if he knew you were a virgin , then he probably thought he didn't have a chance with you. He thought of you as a "nice" girl.

He referred to you as a piece of meat! You should be more than happy he didn't ask for your number. There is going to be aperfct guy out there that will respect you and see you as more than a fillet. Just keep your eye out.
