I used the toddler formula until my kids were 2 years old. Our doctor recommended it. It has a lot more vitamins and is nutritionally better than regular milk. It works well when you have a picky eater that may not be getting all their food groups in. It's costs more than milk, but I feel it is much better for the child and definitely worth it.

Enfamil is a good formula but most baby formulas now days are good. I had to use a soy based formula such as Isomil or Carnation Good Start with my youngest because he couldn't tolerate the milk in most formulas.. NO infant should be given whole milk under the age of 12 months as most pediatricians will advise and WIC won't give you anything but formula till they're 1 yr old either.. I started my kids on whole milk by 9 months but never give them any kind of lowfat milk it must be completely whole milk because they're brains need the fat that is in whole milk for their brains to fully develop..

Ive never even heard of it. Although Ive never used a can of formula in my life! We started our son on whole cow's milk at 18 months after he self weaned and turns out he did better on soy. Milk is species specific, cow's milk is made and designed for baby cows (I know I drink milk, but I'm not a baby) and can have its disadvantages on a developing toddler's digestive system. Id give the formula a try.

It's a total rip off. Milk is cheaper and has all the benefits a child over 12 months requires.

Once the baby reaches the age of 12 months whole milk is the best thing for him, unless the doctor says otherwise.

Depends on how old your baby is. If he /she's already drinking milk, I wouldnt give it to them. Some people use the toddler formula to transition to milk.

No milk is not as good.
Humans are not meant to be weaned until between the ages of 2-4 at the earliest. Some studies suggest that the weaning age should even be later.
Breastmilk is best. Formula is a lesser substitute. Cow's milk is even worse. Cow's milk can cause anemia. It is harder to digest, it is lower in nutrients. Many doctors now say not to wean until 18 months, and then only if the blood iron levels are high.

SWITCHING TO MILK
I've been feeding my baby iron-fortified formula. When is it okay to switch to whole cow's milk? Research comparing cow's milk and formula-fed infants during the first year of life has shown that cow's milk is irritating to the intestines of a tiny infant, causing infants to lose a tiny bit of blood in their stools, contributing to iron deficiency anemia. There is very little iron in cow's milk anyway, and the iron that is there is poorly absorbed. Concern about iron-deficiency anemia has led the American Academy of Pediatrics, backed by solid research, to discourage the use of cow's milk in children under one year of age. One of America's top pediatric hematologists (blood specialist), the late Dr. Frank Oski , Professor and Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics at Johns Hopkin University (and co-author of a book entitled: Don't Drink Your Milk) advised parents to be cautious and not rush into the use of cow's milk, even during the second year of life. At present it would seem prudent to continue giving your baby iron-fortified formula during the second year of life and very gradually wean him to dairy products, beginning with yogurt. If your toddler generally has a balanced diet and routine hemoglobin tests show that he is not even close to being anemic, then switch from formula to whole milk sometime during the second year, but don't be in a hurry. If breastmilk is best for 2 years and longer (according to the World Health Organization) why isn't formula recommended for at least that long?
