Maybe the other guy, his friend was the one in the first place that liked you, and he got the other guy to ask you out to get closer to you.Because he knew you liked the guy that asked you out.

how do you know if this guy really likes you is:
1. he will sit by you whenever he can
2. he always takes things from you and hides them
3. he makes eye contact as much as possible
4. he messes with your hair
5. he laughs at you just to see you smile and tell him to shut up!
6. he asks about your day
7. when the two of you have play fights, he always argues, no matter what
8. he sneaks up on you
9. his friends ask if youre going out yet
10. he asks if your cold, and when you say you are, he asks if you want his jacket

Before u can know whether he likes u,u have to let him know that he is the one u like not his friend.Try not to talk too much to his friend,he might think its flirting,just look at the situation reverse,if u and your friend like the same guy how it would make u feel.It would drive u crazy everytime he looks at her or she smiles at him,maybe thats how this guy feels,just let him know u like him and not his friend ok.
