i have short dark dark brown hair that i dyed this morning. i went to the store and tried to lighten it with another dye and it didnt work..... i heard that if you wash it with a cheap shampoo it might lighten a little bit. any other suggestions. thanks....

It'll fade within a week. My hair always does. I can't seem to keep it dark. I think straightening and hairspray and other hair products will lighten it because it has chemicals. It will damage your hair, but it will lighten it if that's what you really want.

It depends on the colour you are tring to achieve however colour will not lighten colour. Without an idea of which colour you want to go it's a bit hard to help. For dark hair to become one or two shades light eryou will need a colour with extra boosters, to go blonde, bleach Vosine is the shampoo to get rid of some of the colour over time this works best on dark hair dyes,

try clarifying shampoo and leave it on for 10 mins.. if that doesnt work dawn dish liquid. Other than that I would see a hair dresser because we have a way of doing that without causing damage that store products would cause.
Color wont lift color thats why the other dye didnt work.... bleach/highlighting stuff will however lift color.

it will probably fade eventually and cheap shampoo is definitely good at not keeping your colour in. if you want to get it out right now you can get a hair dye stripper which will get most of it out. you can get home ones but it might be best to get a professional to do it. you might also want to leave your hair a few days before doing anything else to it so you don't damage it.

When my sister dyed her hair, she found out that if she put a little hydrogen peroxide in it, that this would lighten it a little bit. But I wouldn't put too much of it in, or else you could make it too light. Hope that helps:)

color will not lighten colored hair...it needs to be stripped out and recolored. If you just want to fade it a little then dawn dishsoap or baking soda and water in your hair. just be careful cuz it will dry ya out a little.
