My kitten is losing hair but only at the tip of her tail. CAn it be an allergy to the food I'm giving her? She is 6 months, Im giving her whiskas. Never had a cat before any advice?

Hi Ivonne...it's possible it could be feline miliary dermatitis http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?cls=1&cat=1332&articleid=150 which includes food allergies and many other plausible causes or she may be comforting herself by suckling on her tail. If she is sucking there consider using a pet-friendly product called Grannick's Bitter Apple http://www.grannicks.com to discourage her from suckling there. Miliary dermatitis does require medical attention as it can develop into something more serious if not medically treated early enough.

I wouldn't particularly worry about it but if it continues within the next few weeks or so change it's food or take it to the vet.
