There was a question like this in our Sunday paper. I didn't really read to heavily into the answer but it had smething to do with a certain acid that is in toothpaste. When that interacts with the acid from the juice it gives a really bad combination. Taste only though...it doesn't hurt your gums or teeth.

it is the reaction of two chemical compounds. Toothpaste has para-hydroxy benzoic acid and makes tarter eliminating a lot less stressful through breaking it down. when you're executed, you've residual left on your mouth. This reacts with the ascorbic acid in orange juice and can provide a foul flavor. that is purely the reaction of two acid, no longer risky, purely strange. usually the saliva on your mouth will dissolve the acid from the toothpaste after quarter-hour, after that that is going to be positive to drink orange juice.

When you brush your teeth, you still have some toothpaste residue in your teeth. With that and orange juice together, it does give you an unpleasant taste!!!

Well, most toothpastes are mint flavored and orange juice is citrus. That kind of citrus with mint combined makes a powerful horrible flavor in your mouth.

A mint, OJ and fluoride cocktail has to be the most vile drink that I can think of. They just don`t mix! Try rinsing a time or two more to try and get rid of the toothpaste taste

Because of the citrus acid in the oranges its not bad for you but its there, and the residue after wards does not mix well with the minty toothpaste, and there you have it.
