the hood latch release cable is no longer attached to the lever. my husband has been using the two people system and now is having trouble getting ahold of anything to grab onto (guess some of the cable broke off). is there any other way to open the hood?

on chrysler products from under the van there is a slot for a flat screwdriver it has to be long enough to reach all the way up to the latch. put the driver into the slot and turn it.that should open the hood. the slot is in the latch

No other way. Peel back the housing inside the car and use pliers to pull the cable. After the hood is raised, pull the cable out of the housing and let it hang out where you can open the hood until you get a new cable.
