I'm 50 and have never married.
The problem is, I'm always being asked why, as though it requires an explanation!

Absolutely not!. I am 40 - not married and never will, I have a good employed job and have my own business. I do not have children and don't intend to. I do live with someone now but spent many many years enjoying being single. Im intelligent and attractive apart from the odd line or two! It never ceases to amaze me the explaining that I have to do as to why I don't want children or to get married - I feel I have to justify why as If I am abormal. I have watched my friends go through divorces, be in bad relationships and be bogged down with children - no thanks - I love my life - hold your head up and feel liberated! Enjoy your freedeom - you are the envy of many! x

All that matters is if you are happy being 50 and intelligent, attractive and single. Forget what everyone says. People will always make comments.

Could it be that being they feel threatened by someone who doesn't fit the 'norm'. I often get comments like I don't understand why you are single, if I really wanted to be with someone I could pick up some dude from the local pub but I'm saving myself for someone special, he might come along, he might not who knows! In the mean time I'll just concentrate on enjoying my life!:o)

Just say to them that u have never found a woman who is as intelligant, attractive and single as you, that might shut them up!! Its no-ones business why you are single

There most certainly is not anything wrong with having these qualities and remaining single at your age. If it is a life choice that you've made then in reality it's really nobody's business.

There's nothing wrong with that. Don't let people make you feel like ur a freak! Ignore them. There probably jealous cos there tied so some old bore!

my best friend is also intelligent, attractive and single. i think that she's that way as she needs to be stimulated intellectually and men find this intimidating.
i think there is nothing wrong with it what so ever, girl power x

you can be happy on your own being intelligent, attractive and single has nothing to do with it as long as you are happy and you do not have to answer to anyone so tell them to mind they own business i am happy as i am

No, of course not. If you've never wanted to get married, you don't need to justify it to anyone. It's just a matter of preference.
