Hi Ya
Chemical black is really hard to get rid of the only way is to use a colour strip which should be done by the salon and is really harsh to the hair. You can not lighten colour with another colour. You can lighten natural hair with colour. The only thing a hair stylist would do is colour correction which would be very expensive. You could always die the hair dark brown again or black and use colour comb or clip extensions to add colour as a quick fix
Hope this helps

I assume you've been coloring at home.

I'm not a pro, but you really should make an appointment with a professional colorist. They can help you sort this out right. There are even products that can remove dyes from hair, but you can only get these treatments in a salon.

If you can't afford a regular colorist, sometimes students at beauty schools or teaching centers will do them cheap. I just got a cut at the Aveda Institute by a trainee and it's nice. I paid $20 for my cut and they do color for $40 or so.

Depending on the condition of your hair, you need to bleach it out first, because color does not lift color. Just lighten it enough so that you'll be able to darken it with the brown you want! If it gets really light and orange, don't worry, because you'll be depositing color anyways, heck go for a light golden brown, it might be a nice change! Don't forget to condition before and after.

That happened to my friend. She went to a regular hairstylist and they took it out easily. Don't try to do anything more by yourself!
