That depends on the flashlight, and what kind of battery it is, and how many batteries you are using.
For example, if you put your batteries two at a time in series into a small flashlight, you have twice the voltage. You have to look at the amp-hours to see how long that battery is capable of delivering current at that voltage. Then you need to know the resistance of the lightbulb. Or you can just look at the flashlight or its info which should estimate how long it will stay lit with general batteries.
Everything has a rating - so it is good to know how to interpret it and caluculate with it.

It depends on the type of battery - regular, heavy duty, alkaline, etc., the age of the battery, the wattage of the flashlight, and the continuity of use. But, as a rule of thumb, you can expect the batteries to last until you really need them.

The flashlight if plastic will last until it is destroyed but it takes 2 flashlight batteries to run a flashlight
