I carry minds everytime I travel, but its in my suitcase for hotel room protection. The laws do not permit you to carry any concealed weapons like knifes, guns or brass knuckles on the streets. If you ever confront danger, always try to walk away, if persistance occur, inform someone a friend, bouncer, security or manager. Weapons are the last resort, and normally someone ends up dead or incarcerated.

If you are attacked an unarmed person DO NOT use your nunchakus to defend your self. But if you are attacked by multiple people or someone welding a weapon more powerful than your nunchakus like a machete its ok to use them. And like the above answer said DONT show them off.

For any jurisdiction you should be able to look up the list of "prohibited" or "restricted" or "dangerous" weapons. Nunchuku's are usually prohibited.

For North Carolina, see http://www.jus.state.nc.us/NCJA/ncfirearmslaws.pdf

It says that any "deadly weapon" (it gives examples of metal knuckles, and shuriken) fall under same guidelines as the firearms, with respect to concealment.

It's the same as carrying a knife. it's prohibited in most states and countries since it's a deadly and strong weapon.

but if you're going to a gym or martial art club to practice then it's ok. but don't show it everywhere you go.
