normal chapstik. they have this kind "lip moisturizer" that is clear and doesn't taste like anything. a lot of people have chapped lips (women especially) because they use the flavored lip glosses and suck and lick their lips all of the time because of the flavor.
one thing that you may want to do to help the healing process a little bit is to exfoliate your lips with some sea salts and warm water. get your lips wet and put some sea salts (like the salt you crack yourself for table salt) and put some on your fingers and rub it over your lips in a circular motion. it will slough off that dead skin, leaving a new, fresh layer of skin on your lips. then keep those bad boys moisturized! i stopped using anything that was tastey (except for when I'm making out!) because i found myself licking my lips a lot more than usual.
hope this helps!

Blistex Lip Ointment in the white tube with blue lettering on it. It's medicated & will help heal your lips quickly.
Use some kind of lip balm regularly & DO NOT lick your lips! That makes it worse & dries them out. I use Natural Beeswax lip balm. It has Vitamin E & peppermint in it. It's $1.47 at Wal-Mart.
Carmex & Vasoline aren't good either. Petroleum jelly is a temporary fix that doesn't last long. I've also used Blistex's Complete Moisture, Lip Medex, Spa Effects, DCT. All are good products to use. Softlips works good too but is costly, almost $3 a little stick tube. When I can afford it, I make my own lip balm. I get the base from an ebay store called Horton Lane Supply Company & add my own flavor oils. The base is shea butter which is good for your skin. I've sourced both places for you below.

I like blistex, or carmex it burns but it helps severly chapped dry lips. Don't lick your lips. The best advise I can give is to keep the lip balm on them. or maybe use neosporin might help. U should call a pharmacist they can help you in telling you what you can buy for it. Or call the doctors office and talk with the nurse she would be able to tell you what to do also. Sorry bout your lips sounds like it hurts. In cold weather it is very important to keep your lips protected. Always carry some kind of chapstick. I think carmex works the best. Only because it is thicker than others so it sooths and stays on the longest. you might also be lacking a vitamin. Call the doc and see what the nurse says, and take care.

if your lips are really dry it could be a combination of weather and dehydration. Make sure that you are drinking enuf water. Now to fix the flaking skin problem... you can do a few of these... Try putting a little bit of sugar in a small amout of vasaline m,ix well and then rub back and forth on lips to exfoliate. Also you can take scotch tape, smile really big put the tap on your lips when you smile and then pull tape off It removes the dry dead skin off of your lips. But as far as the redness and dry ness, drink more water and keep your lips moisturized at all times

if you have a walmart nearby, go there to the section where they have all the chapstick & buy the Aquafina Hydrating Lip Oil. I used to have horribly chapped lips but not anymore. I use that all the time & it works wonders. Your lips all feel tingly cool for a bit after applying too cause it has menthol in it :-) Make sure to keep something (whether it's my suggestion or plain chapstick) on you at all times & use regularly.

first, stop licking your lips. then get you some vitamin e capsules, stick a clean pin in it and put the oil on your lips each night before you go to bed. this should heal them in about 2 or 3 days. do not pull the dry skin off you lips, let it fall off. in the day put vaseline on your lips. don't put cheap lipstick on unless you are using vaseline first.
