I am recently single. There is this man that I have been interested in for some time now, but I was in a relationship. I have never been one to ask a man out before. He is really nice, funny, and loves kids which is good since I have kids. I just don't know how to go about asking him out. Does anyone have any suggestions.

OH, that is a little intimidating, isn't it? You just have to get up the nerve, just like a guy would.

Start some small talk if you already engage in that with him and bring up something interesting that is going on around town and ask him if he'd like to go check it out with you. A play, a park, a new bowling alley, whatever you think both of you would enjoy.

If it's cold turkey, be brave and walk right up and ask him if he'd like to do something with you this weekend. If he says 'no', be gracious and cut it short.

Activities are a good bet . . . something that is not solid intense conversation. Find something to do that both of you will have attention split between yourselves and entertainment or hand-on stuff.

Get tickets or make plans for something ahead of time. Then tell him you already have the tickets/plans and ask him. This way there is less pressure than asking him out cold. Most likely he will say yes if he does not already have plans. And you do not put him or you in a position of having to come up with a great first date.

Try the cavewoman approach: club him in the back of the head & drag him off to have your way with him. ^_^

Seriously, ask him how he's doing, let it be known that you are single again & are wondering if there's anything new to do for the singles crowd. If he's interested (but not as clueless as myself), he'll probably pick up on the kind-of-subtle clue you dropped and perhaps ask you out. Otherwise, just ask him out straight up.

Just do it! Start talking about an event, a movie, how long it's been since you've been ice skating...whatever. If he takes the bait, ask him if he wants to go with you sometime. If he says yes, get his number if you don't already have it. Or be super brave and make the date right then. "I'm free this Saturday...how about you?" Good luck!!!!

I'm assuming he's single too. Just do it. Guys find it flattering and even very sexy when a woman is bold and sure enough of herself to ask out a guy. And if he says "no", then you'll know how us guys feel when we get rejected.

Guys are dumb and they don't catch on quickly. You can't hint around. You have to say, "Hey since now I'm single, you should take me on a date on of these days."

I don't think I would ever have a problem with any chick saying that to me. You have nothing to loose because something like that wouldn't destroy a friendship.

Give the hints like telling him he is really funny and pleasant to be around. Ask him if he is dating anyone or who is his significant other.
He should get the hint from those things.

if there is a way that you can get a parent or someone to watch the kids for a nite invite him over for dinner....if you can't do that, then invite him over for dinner and make it for a time that you can feed the kids...let them have a little visit with him and then put them to bed....have dinner...talk and get to know him.....good luck
