When he said:
"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." (NIV, John 13:34-35)

Do you love gay people as Jesus would? Do you show yourselves as true disciples of Jesus? Or are you a fraud, taking his gift, and forgetting the work?

By the way you can fill in gay people above with Atheists, Agnostics, Buddhists, Wiccans, Jews, Muslims, Democrats, whatever.

Really, what would Jesus do?

I'm not doing this to hate. This is a call to all Christians to make good on your love of Jesus, and his teachings, and truly make the world a better place, as He did. To truly try your BEST to be like Jesus.

Would being like Jesus include controlling those people that sin? Or sharing your message the best you can, lovingly and peacefully, then moving on.

Would Jesus try to make laws against peoples sin to forcibly ban them from doing it? Or would He hope they came to the right conclusion on their own?

Think about it- are you saving peoples souls by making their sins against the law? How does that help their salvation?

Jesus loves everyone! However, even Jesus at some point has to judge the "sin", and a day of consequences will come....You can love someone and still not agree with what they are doing. How you express that to them makes the difference. I let people know I think they are wrong for being gay, atheist, wiccan etc. but that I respect their choices and that I still respect them in every possible way. Afterall, God is the judge, not me.

Do you mean the same Jesus that whipped the money changers out of the Temple? The same Jesus that told the Jewish priests that they were white washed tombs? This is the same God who loved gays so much that he destroyed them in Sodom and Gomorrah because they would not repent and turn to him and be saved. So what Jesus are you talking about? The Biblical Jesus or the made up one that people today like because they feel they can go on sinning and still go to Heaven erroneously.

Jesus told us exactly how to love each other.

He told us, "Forgive others for their mistakes." Then he warned us. But no Bubba Preacher would ever give a sermon on Jesus' warning. Because if he did, he would lose his congregaton;

And just what was that warning? And it was also an insistence of real love, real compassion, real Christianity.

Jesus specifically said, "If you do not forgive others, your father in Heaven will not forgive you".

How can anyone expect to go to Heaven if God has not forgiven them?

Jesus' words not mine.

Conclusion: Anyone who holds a grudge, is not a harmony-loving person, Anyone who holds a grudge against anyone, has no hope of Heaven. No matter what Paul,or Peter, or Bubba preachers say.

added: Poor poor "Christine" - she has been preached an English translation of 1611, which was corrupted in 325AD to condemn homosexuality. I forgive her only because Jesus said to forgive others. But, doesn't anyone become suspicious of why the Bible would condemn a person"s sexual preference. Please go to you local college and talk to a Hebrew speaking professor. He or she will tell you that in Leviticus, in the orignal Hebrew text, the verse read completely different that the 325AD and the 1611 blatant, non accidental, misinterpretation and mis-translations.Wow, I am so sorry for homosexuals being discriminated against because some religious leaders wanted to build and grow their empires by propogation, and encouraging large families that raise future church members.

Dear bigots: I am not a homosexual. I simply wasn't born with that inclination. But, I am left-handed, and you are not. Should I feel guilty for eating my dinner with my left hand. Imagine that, I am a left-handed Christian. How is that possible?

First the "new" part is not just a general love of mankind but a self sacrificing love to "one another" which is the Body of Christ. Other wise you deny the command of Christ to be separate and not love the world. also love does not condone any sin so to love someone would never just ignore sin. Jesus who was not a sinner and could not be stained by sin was able to do things we can't. But He rebuked many and cursed whole cities that would not repent.

Interesting way to pose your question...

Christians are taught to love everyone. Some can pull it off better than others, but that's what we are taught.

If you see someone you love doing something that will ultimately hurt them, do you not warn them and encourage them to a safe, correct way?

We all cry "Hate Speech", and "Discrimination" when somebody is seemingly critical of us. Yet, if we understand true love, then we understand that it sometimes is confrontational to sin.

Speaking the truth in love is that best thing we can do for those we are told to love.

I would think another Christian of all people would understand that Christians don't hate other people. We can't just go along with it or we are condoning it. We don't mock them or insult them and if anyone says you have seen a Christian do that, then they weren't a real Christian. We all had to admit our sin and that we were wrong. God makes us all do that to come to Him. That doesn't mean we don't love them. The fact that we try to bring them to Christ and are mocked and insulted for it but we do it anyway proves we DO love them.

Yes, I love them. I do not, however, support or love their sin. Do you realize that Jesus aso said,
Mathew 10:34 "Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
36 And a man’s foes shall be they of his own bhousehold."

Yes I too agree! Great point . I don't see too many Christians "living" their religion because some of the greatest secrets about life of men are not to be seen and even not to be spoken either. I maybe destroyed for telling all and I am willing to risk even death to help you see the business of life has many secrets. Most of the secrets are about love. Trust me when I say you can't even guess some of them now. Good luck grasshopper.

I believe when you expand on that scripture above and ask yourself; how do I show them love as Christ did/does? It allows for more great work to be done than just pointing out others flaws. I am a Christian. My brother in-law is a homosexual wiccan. I love him regardless. Because he is another imperfect human as I & that is what the Lord commands of me. I do not support his life style but I support him. In my mind I will not allow myself to define him by his actions. Mostly we agree to disagree!
That is fine I have spoke my piece & he, his. But I chose to teach by example, not by force, or by rudness or by anything other that doing what God wants of me. His slavation is his responsibilty. I do & have done what God wants, to share His words of Truth, and love & live as Christ, to the best of my human ability. I know I am not perfect either, that is why I am not judgeing when I speak God's word & am simply telling the Truth. I know where I am going after death.
