the scapyard stretch on the newark dyke (trent) in newark, had barbel, chub, bream, roach, hybrids and gudgeon and theres even double figure carp in there. ive had most fun on stick float and castor over hemp but also had good times on pole fishing shallow with castor.

The river Severn at Atcham, I've caught 100 lbs + bags of barbel more than once there, I fish the Dove below Tutbury & the Trent at Swarkestone bridge & Willington now but not with the same success. tight lines.

The river Swale in Yorkshire, also a good barbel river. The Wharfe and Nidd are pretty good too. Some big barbel coming out of the trent now, but I haven't been there for years!
