Make sure insurance is up to date then torch it, use money to buy something decent.

Provided that you have not alarm or immobelizer within the key then a copy key can be obtained from the dealer. This is fine if the key you had was the original and only a single key fitted the entire vehicle

If any of the barrels has been changed then the problem gets worse

Lets assume that the car has onle one key fitting all locks if the dealer is unable to help I would suggest removal of a door barrel and taking it to a "good" locksmith for him to strip down and make a matching key

We have a very good one in Kent and I have enclosed a link to :-

I am sure they could help as they have done many locks for me and my company

Try going to the dealer with the reg & vin number. They should be able to order a replacement. I did this with my motorcycle last year. The only downside it took a fortnight. The replacement key cost £15. Good luck!

The easiest way is to get a matched set of keys, locks and immobiliser ECU's from a scrap dealer.

does it have central locking?? not sure if it works on renaults but ive heard of a trick with half a tennis ball, it has a vaccuum effect on the lock area, if you manage to get into the car you never know - you could find your keys?

If the key is chipped to match your immobiliser you will have to either go to a main dealer or a breakers yard and swap ALL the locks and the immobiliser.

Do you mean car buffs? I think you do. Or maybe automobile afficianados. Oh, uh call your dealer and have one made. That would be cheapest. If no dealer, you can call a locksmith. That's quite pricy though. Good luck!

I think the best bet is replacing the locks.
