Speaking as a women who doesn't like flowers and doesn't celebrate Valentines... most likely she means it. But if you are unsure don't buy her anything but make her something like a CD, photo album or take her to a movie (just let her know that you like to spend time with her)

She may not want you to spend a lot of money on her, especially if she doesn't have much money to spend on you right now. If she says, "don't buy me a gift," and you don't, well, she has no right to get mad. (This is coming from a girl!)

BUT, I would do something special for her on Valentine's Day, something inexpensive...make her dinner, take her for a drive under the stars to a nice secluded area, write a list of all the things you love about her (much better than a sappy old poem). Be creative and do something she'll remember!

May be not, but don't give her a gift for Valentines day. SHow her you know how to respect her choices. If you want to give her a present do it before or after Valentines.

Classic denial. Every girl loves flowers! Or just getting stuff. Attention. Your best bet is to get her the traditional card and flowers 'just in case' and then top it off with something original like a trip to a lakeside or someplace dark to do some satellite watching. Maybe a balloon ride, something within your means and tailored to her personality to show her you really DO know her likes and dislikes. Or at least care and want to learn what they are...

She wants to be "unique" - so try to show her your LOVE in a
very special way (no traditional flowers or gifts).
Now it´s up to you ...
