The filling fell out and now parts of the tooth have broken off---i can only go to an oral surgeon and they can't see me for 2 more weeks--
any suggestions on how to deal with this---there is n't any pain--just annoying sharp edges from the tooth.

Did you or your dentist call the OS? Your dentist maybe able to get you in quicker, never hurts to try. In the mean time get some dental wax from the drug store (or your dentist office) and cover the sharp edges of the tooth up, or ask your dentist if he can at least smooth them off. If there is no Dentist who can help you, call the Oral Surgeons office and ask them if they can at least smooth the edges or refer you to someone who can do the extraction sooner. Someone should be able to help you.

Go to any store Walmart, Drug store etc. Buy a prouduct called Tempera. Down the toothpaste Isle by the dental floss and stuff. It is a White paste, it comes with a stick and a Q-tip. Fill your tooth and surroundin area with it. Don't eat or drink for 30-60 minutes after. It will get hard. It usually lasts a couple of days and then you will have to reapply, but it will keep the sharp edges from cutting your mouth and bugging you all day! Good luck.

Tell the dentist you are in pain. They usually take you in less time if it's an emergency.
