The US could go to war with anyone at anytime and win.

Probably the only country in the world that could give the United States trouble in a war is China. It is not because there technology is better than the United States. It is because they could send wave after wave after wave of people at the United States and perhaps could overwhelm them.

I don't know what would happen if Russia jumped in, but if they supported China it would be tougher for the States and if they supported the States it would be tougher (probably more so since they are so close to each other) for the Chinese.

The US could not invade China conventionally nor could they do the same to us. It would likely become a cold war type stand off that would escalate to draw in other nations. Any other nation even a small one could be the fuel necessary to create a US, China show off. Each country knows their capabilities. China has the manpower by far but lacks the technology to invade the US. The US would quickly gain air and naval superiority so that China would be reduced to defense. This is where China excels. They would easily smash any attempt at invasion of their own country even without air support. China could resist an invasion by every nation in the world.

Ultimately it would become a war of attrition and that's when nuclear, biological, chemical weapons come into play. China and the US have all three. I compare this scenario to a much larger version of the Iran-Iraq war from 80-88 where there was ground gained on both sides but ultimately they stalemated into a war of attrition and then desperately used everything they had at their disposal, namely chemical weapons.

i belive a war between USA and China would ultimatley end in a nuclear war and heres why

china doesnt have the naval capacity to launch an invasion of the united states, they would never get to our coast our Carirer task forces would pick them apart seeing as how they would have no aircover (no carriers in there navy). so they cant get across the pacific and reach us. well we have the naval lift capacity to form a beach head we would be faced with more enemies then we have bullets for. our airforces would be via for control of the sky over what would be come the best defended sky in the world. they would do as they did in korea and drown our troops in the blood of there soldiers. even if we did break out and cause a war of manuvuer it would become imperitive for china to stop our progress. most likely it would start with "tactical" nuclear weapons in the 100 KT range. alternatley if we couldnt break there lines and open the war of manuver we would ultimatley be faced with a decsion of how to break out, which might result in the determination that "tactical" nuclear weapons would be realised.

but if it stayed conventional ot would hinge on how well we could supply our troops, who gained control of the skies, which side neighbouring asian countries jumped in, whhat was the readiness of the units on either side, where they were deployed and how far from inital beach head they were. its a tough choice but i think in the end america might prove the better due to the technolgical edge we hold over china

Even if most of our troops weren't over in Iraq (not comment on the war) NO in the long term.

There are at least 4 times as many Chinese as Americans.
they have nuclear bombs as do we. They see winning a war on the long term, as long as 100 or 1000 years, where we as stupid Americans think we can win a war in a short time.

Really we haven't done well in the war department since WW2.

Korea--too many people dead
Vietnam--too many people dead
Gulf War 1 Same
Current Gulf War--Same

Proud to be an American but our government is really messed up.

Russia would probably mind their own business.

As long as these wars are fought on the battlefield and both sides wear uniforms and don't hide in the civilian population like what's happening in Iraq. Then yes, I think the US can take out any country militarily.

America could beat the rest of the world at war with one hand tied behind its back. There are extensive books on thisa subject.
America is first...There is no second.

i doubt america would go to war with china. even though they are a communist country they still are about the only country with the military size to invade the US with confidence among many other reasons.

Yes, the USA could if they went and took the troops out of Iraq to fight. If no nukes allowed, it may be a little more tactical. If nukes were allowed, it would be armageddon

China has the most numerous army with 4 mln enlisted troops, comparing with 1.5 US, however Chinese put their main stress on raw power, but their vehicles, aircraft, etc are unsophisticated and rather outdated.
