The last time I checked there was no age limit and some 6 year Olds have gotten a Private Pilots' License. It's all about skill, knowledge and common sense.

You can train at any age, depending on your instructor. To solo, you must be at least 16 years of age, possess a valid 3rd class medical certificate (This is your Student Pilot Certificate) and have an instructor sign you off to solo. To get your Private Pilot Certificate, you must be 17 years of age, and meet the other requirements in the FARS, part 61 or 141, depending on how you are pursuing your training. Part 61 covers it as it applies to you and an instructor individually, and Part 141 is for schools.

Sixteen years of age to get the license. You can start pilot training at a younger age, however.
