I'm 23 and is a full time student living at home. My school participates in a co-op program where I work full time for half a year and is a student the other half. I just want to get as much tax money back as possible. I want to file on my own but my parents still wants to claim me. Will that affect how much money I will be getting back?

Yes, you can file separately, but you will need to state on the tax form that your parents are claiming you as a dependent. It will reduce the amount of money you receive back.

Depends on how much money you made. If you didn't earn a lot, then odds are you will get most if not all your federal taxes back.
