if you dont want to have kids then thats your choice and dont let anyone make you feel bad about it,you do what makes you happy. Its great that you want to become a midwife, and helps other mums and dads with their unborn babies.

That is entirely up to you. If you feel you don,t want kids then go with your gut feeling. I dare say though that if you do become a midwife all them lovely little babies will make you broody.
I,m nearly 27 now and i,ve got 2 boys one.s 5 and the other almost 1. I am looking into starting midwifery training now. So even though i,ve got 2 children it,s not going to stop me having a career, lots of women do it especially midwives believe it or not.
Good luck to you with becoming a midwife.

I have many people say many different times that the best kids and the only kids they ever want are the type they can fill with sugar, spoil them , and give back to their mom and dad.
HA HA
Not wanting your own is perfectly fine... its a personal choice as is how many children other women may want.
Some people always want children but others never want them.
Just because a man is an OB/GYN, doesnt automatically rule out the fact that he may be gay. Doesnt make him a bad OB if he is.. just means he doesnt like to see women in his personal life.
My point is Your personal choice to have children or not to have children is exactly that, your personal choice, it wont make you a bad midwife.

Not at all - I am 40, I have never wanted children and have no plans to have them. In my book, the wrong thing to do is to have them because you feel you should due to society pressure etc. It is possible to have a fullfilling life without children. Don't get me wrong, I adore children I just don't want them. Good luck with becoming a midwife - you wil help bring lots of lovely babies into the world - how adorable is that!

no its WONDERFUL!!! i am pregnant now but i always wanted to be a mom. i have 19 yr old friends that have decided early on never to have kids and i think thats the smartest thing they could do. its totally a personal choice to not have kids and a good one. children can feel when they are out of place. its beautiful of you to want to be a midwife it will probably be more fulfilling in life for you to help bring hundreds of kids into the world! God bless u for wanting to help people and best of luck.

Only you can decide what you want in your life and if you dont want kids then that is fine, you might wake-up one day and think about kids in a completely different way
I am studying to become a midwife - so good luck for the future

It would be worse to have children and then regret it. However I think it would be nice to have the company of children and grandchildren as you get older, as being alone may be quite lonely? I don't suppose having or not having children would affect your career as a midwife though.

Of course not. I'm (in a way) an nanny for my niece right now. I don't plan on ever having children of my own and this is next best thing for me. But I don't feel bad about not wanting my own. Not everyone has to do what the books say or what society tells you. You do what feels right for you, not for everyone else. If you're happy, what does it matter?

It's never wrong not to have children if you are a brainless, ignorant a*sehole who, ironically, seem to be able to breed like rabbits on council estates all over Britain. I'm sure you're not because you have the brain to be able to consider a life without kids.
Anyway, it's always nice to hand the litle b*ggers back when they've done a stinky one.

Its a matter of personal choice.
Many people who have children only do it for selfish reasons. For them its just another accessory liking having a new car.
In many ways if you decide not to have children you are less selfish than they are.
Just think of it. There are literally millions of people starving at the moment because the world is so overpopulated.
Do you want to add to this problem!!
