I am 29, my ex is 26. He is my ex in that we were F**K Buddies for almost three years. Dumb me didn't know that that is the sort of thing I was getting into... So anyway, he commits to this chick instead of me. Outside of that occuring, he and I got along well. Never argued or anything. Well...on Saturday Night, I IM'd him. Didn't think he would answer, all I said was HI! LOL... well, we caught up. He told me how he missed being around me, much to my confusion. If he liked it that much, he would be with me, right? So I asked Why he missed me. He said I am very fun to be around. VERY TRUE. So, things are not well in paradise for him and his GF. Here comes the VERY VERY VERY hypothetical part...Would you take him back? I'm told him that it all depends on how he approached me about it. For example, I am not going to be waiting on him to get over her, or get READY to be in a relationship. I did that WAITING crap for almost 3 yrs. I would likely not do it. What would u do?

I ran out of space, but I want to make it THOUROUGHLY clear that I do not condone the whole F**K Buddy concept all. It is soooo lazy and immature.

I am totally loving the answers you all are giving. To the person who told me to have some respect...I did NOT knowingly sign up for the F**K Buddy thing. Unfortunately, I was naive enough to believe him when he said he wasn't ready yet for a relationship. TRUST ME, I respect myself. That whole ordeal was EYE OPENING to say the least.

We DID have a relationship out side of that, but not a committed RELATIONSHIP. So if the whole F**K Buddy thing means we had NO relationship, then we were a lil more than that. And the whole did I feel like a piece of A$$...NOPE. It was time well spent. LOL take that how you want to.

well if you guys were just f**k budies, that means you didn't have a "relationship" outside of the times you two were intimate, right? if that's the case, then i don't see why you can't DATE him.
if i were you, i'd try just dating him (without all of the sex) and see if we still connect. i would not wait around more than a few months to see if he wants a relationship. you two already have history so it's not like you're strangers just getting to know each other. good luck!

well, i personally never get back with my ex's cuz it always creates problems. things never go back to normal cuz for some very weird reason theres always tention in the relationship. i think u should just move on and find somebody that will care bout u as a person not as a piece of @ss. dont u feel cheap when all he uses u for is sex??? should find that right person and give urself to them. not to ur ex thats probably banging a few other girls besides u and his g/f. im just tellin u the way i see things from a guys perspective. hope things work out.

It's hard to say really.
I'd like to think no way, I'd never go back to him because it sounds like he doesn't know what he wants and he's selfish to be playing with peoples emotions.
However, on the other hand if you really like him and he's made a genuine mistake and it took him that mistake to realize what he wants then it'd be a shame let it pass you both by.
I think only you could know, how you feel about it, what sort of person he is, how he treated you in the past etc.
Best of luck *

Well, you were F-buddies. You kind of screwed up there. You only used him for sex. So he probably only saw you as a good lay that he did not have to commit to. You could try and take him back but make it a relationship not a friggin roll in the hay.

No - he was not committed to you in the first place and there is no indication that he will commit to you now. You were each other's booty call for 3 years - if that's the type of relationship you're looking for, then that's what you'll get.

Honestly you should let this person go. You're exes for a reason and he's taking you for a ride I tell you . I've been here and done that, and its not nice i can tell you .
You're better leaving all this behind you now, get on with your life and get over him. Because believe me love, he's havin his cake and eating it.
You deserve someone who will love you more than life itself...and when you find this person you'll wonder what the hell you were thinkng with this current guy!!

History makes it more complicated,,but if the two of ye still have very strong feelings for each other then you may want to make a stab at it.....its happend to me and i went back to my ex and it didn't work out..i didn't trust him after he messed me around and when i went back with him i reaslised i felt different about him...you might feel that way yourself..so be carefull cos it might mess with your head...

You already said you were waiting for him for three years. Thats three years you'll never get back. How much more time are you going to waste waiting for this guy? I wouldn't take him back. Move on.

As long as he dumped chick, I'd get back with him, but I find that the second time around is the worst! And neither of you will be friends again!
