Formerly.
Do not do anything bad to yourself and anyone else;
Do anything good to yourself and everyone;
Keep you mind clear and pure day and night.
This is what the Buddha teaches.
Buddism is very straightforward. "Zen" simply means means to meditate or concentrate. "Zen" is not simply a device for centering and calming the mind but also embracing the wisdom of enlightenment.

I practise Zen 6 days a week; but I am NOT Buddhist.
I practise Zen because it is good for strengthening the mind.
I published a brochure about Zen on my blog January 8th.
Click on my avatar, then click on my 360 profile; then click on my blog then go to the entry for January 8th; or click on the zen tag,
The brochure will help you understand zen far better than I can help you in an answer.

Zen Buddhism may be considered as being the top-most of religious-philosophical practices nowadays. But if you are really sincere, when you have learned something about it, you may want to learn more and ever more until you die. You may start searching the Web about it as you are already there. Give it twenty years to start with. Go your own way. Try a new teleological way. Then you might let us know if you then really will bother to say anything to us about it.

No but i know the sound of one hand clapping, why a wet bird doesn't fly at night, and i know how to think, wait and fast. also, i read "zen and the art of archery." seems that it is the same as ancient buddhist ways except there is a greater emphasis on dignity and martial arts (and tea service?). My official answer is that i am not a zen buddhist. pardon me and may you live a blessed life.

Not generally, but intoxicated black Jews with one eyeball pretending to be Christians pretending to bless a fake Zen Buddhist has been outlawed by the Christian church ever since the Council of Nicea. I admit, their stance is rather racist, but they have the religious freedom to decide to be racist.
