Were the laws of Moses done away when Christ died on the cross? Yes.
The laws of Moses are from Exodus 20-Deut. 27, which would include Leviticus. With that said, not every word from Exodus 20-Deut. 27 is 'law'. (much (not all) texts in Numbers). There are concepts mentioned in the law of Moses, that are reiterated (different wording)outside of the 'law'; such as the '10 commandments'.

Watch out for St. Paul quotes...

Why don't we ask the "man" himself, Jesus. This is what he said shortly before he died.

Matthew 5:18
"For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled."

There it is in black and white. The law still applies. Some will argue that Jesus did fulfill the law when he was crucified, but does it make any sense for Jesus to say "till heaven and earth pass" when he was talking about something that would happen within a few weeks?

Of course not, that would be misleading, and basically a lie. Nope, Jesus is pretty clear that the law still applies, so if I were you I'd put down the shrimp and pick up a stone.

NO.

Ephesians 2:15 Through his body on the cross, Christ put an END to the LAW WITH ALL ITS COMMANDS AND RULES. He wanted to create one new group of people out of the two. He wanted to make peace between them.

Colossians 2:14 He wiped out the written Law with its rules. The Law was against us. It opposed us. He took it away and nailed it to the cross.

Galatians 2:16 ...No one can be made right with God by obeying the law.

Galatians 2:21 ...What if a person could become right with God by obeying the law? Then Christ died for nothing!

Galatians 5:4 Some of you are trying to be made right with God by obeying the law. You have been separated from Christ. You have fallen away from God’s grace... The ONLY verse that talks about falling from grace, and they did it by trying to follow the law!

Jesus said he didn’t come to destroy the law, but to fulfill it. (Matt 5:17) The effect was the same. Once fulfilled it was no longer in effect. The very next verse, Matthew 5:18, looks forward to the time when the law would be set aside. "...Not even the smallest stroke of a pen will disappear from the Law UNTIL EVERYTHING IS COMPLETED." IF the law were intended to be permanent, the "UNTIL..." clause would be meaningless.

On the cross, Jesus' last recorded saying, "It is finished," is an important milestone. Because of Jesus life, Satan had been defeated. The law was finished and would no longer stand between God and mankind.

The 10 commandments along with the rest of the law ("commands and rules" from Ephesians 2:15) were "set aside" when they were fulfilled or completed at Jesus' resurrection. We are no longer bound by that law.

Not exactly. Ceremonial laws were done away with, but the moral laws were actually amplified. The orthodox Jews still obey them, as they should, but Christians aren't bound by them.

Matthew 5:17
Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.

Think of what Jesus said about adultry, and how lusting is the same as committing the act itself. This was just one example of how Jesus magnified the law.

The word "law" throughout the Bible can have one of several related meanings, including the ceremonial law contained in the Pentuatech, the Pentuatech as a whole, etc. The law can also refer to the Old Testament dispensation. The New Testament represented a shift from law and judgement to grace and forgiveness, but the law, meaning the moral code the represents the very character of God, still exists and we should obey it.

properly no! right this moment is all approximately centering on the non secular or non secular artwork given to us......in case you have study the Bible like I particularly have , there is two tale lines happening , suitable ? and that they the two come all the way down to The Letter Kills however the Spirit provides existence ! So 2 Corinthians 13:8 is void of any information isn't it. Love will undergo yet Tongues and interpretation (Prophesying) will bypass away. I particularly have Spoken in Tongues and Interpreted 18 years...I particularly have been excommunicated for 8 years, for analyzing Tongues ,"God" telling me to divorce. The Church needed my spouse forgiven a 1000 situations..yet i do no longer tolerate Jezebel. The Spirit gained and that i divorced....the regulation lost simply by fact the letter kills..Neither the previous testomony or the recent testomony be conscious ...once you're lead by using the Spirit.

Jesus never, in any of his teachings altered the laws of the Old Testament. Jesus did not set out new laws, but preached instead a strict adherence to Jewish law. He fasted and ate according to Jewish tradition and attended temple on Saturdays like other Jews. The clsest thing to law making that Jesus did was to criticize the public displays of piety and holiness of the Pharises. he also cast the money changers out of the Temple in Jerusalem as this was not the proper place for exchange.

ROMANS 8:1-2 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

No! Jesus instructed his followers to keep the law! Christians miss this one every time! Paul is the one who decided how the "new" Christianity would work. In spite of what the original disciples said!
