I keep hearing about the bible saying people aren't supposed to be homosexual or have same sex marriages. Please provide the actual verse and the listing. (whatever you call it - John: 3.15 or something???)

I just don't see anything wrong with being homosexual or gay marriage and I want someone to point out what god actually says about it - not someones interpretation.

In Genesis 19:1-29 the cities of Sodom and Gommorah were destroyed because the people were so wicked. The men of the city wanted to have sex with other men. So God's judgement on the city was to destroy it by raining down burning sulfur on Sodom and Gomorrah.

Leviticus 18:22 (speaking to men in Israel) "Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman; that is detestable."

Leviticus 20:13 "If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads."

Romans 1:26-27 "Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion."

1 Corinthians 6:9 "Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexual offenders...will inhereit the kingdom of God."

1 Corinthians 6:13 "The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body."

1 Timothy 1:8-10 "We know that the law is good if one uses it properly. We also know that the law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, for the sexually immoral, for those practicing homosexuality, for slave traders and liars and perjurers."

when you try to quote Bible verses as being adverse to gay marriage contained in the USA, the answer might want to be: none. that's because we are no longer allowed to placed non secular beliefs into legislations. That gay marriage is a contravention of a few peoples' non secular beliefs would not count number from a criminal aspect of view. operating example, there are certain verses contained in the Bible adverse to eating pork or shellfish, yet we do not close down those industries as an finished. i recognize of many verses often observed by technique of a few adverse to gay marriage, yet in case you seem at them lower back in context, they are often adverse to different issues, which contain Roman pagan temple practices, or adverse to particular sexual acts. on the grounds that there are also verses adverse to particular heterosexual acts, yet no-one signifies that instantly marriage be outlawed because of them, utilizing the Bible to help the idea adverse to gay marriage might want to be hypocritical, IMHO.

There aren't any. When it was written many people were gay and no one thought or said anything about it.
Homophobia is a very recent mental disease. Some people come up with their own interpretation of some verse to pretend that they have religious argument in favor of their mental diseases.

There is a very similar question about why women are not allowed to drive in Saudi Arabia. Cars were invented 1300 years later! Much of religion is just pure interpretation to reach political means.

I don't discriminate against gay people either, and i've heard that verse too, but the truth is, you can listen to a book, or you can listen to your heart. Whichever you choose it's your opinion, and you're entitled to it. And i'm sure by making this comment i subject myself to slaughter by everyone who thinks gay marraige is wrong. I believe though, that love is love, no matter whom it is between, and that people should accept that, no matter what religion you are.
