i live in NEw York, Queens. Can some one let me know any shelters or some thing i can go to and really help out the kids.

Try the link below. It has volunteer projects for each burrow and you can even narrow it down to your neighborhood by zip code. Its a pretty cool website to volunteer in NYC. It is ran by the Mayors Office and local non-profits. Give it a shot.

Many churches have shelters for the homeless, I would start by calling several of these that are in your neighborhood. Way to go, we need more people like you out there.
