The U.S. Ambassador for whatever country the embassy is in and his family.

To add on to dognhorse, in some cases there are place to live on the same grounds, but it is not connected to the embassy. Also, many of the Marines live on the same premises but not actually inside the embassy. If necessary, people could live in the embassy [say, if there was an attack] for a short amount of time, but this is normally not the case.

No one lives in an embassy. It is a business office. All employees, including the Ambassador, live in houses or apartments that either belong to or are leased by the embassy's government. In some places, depending on circumstances, the Ambassador's home might be in the same building (such as a combined office-apartment building) but it is separate from the embassy itself.

If the local mail is unreliable, embassy employees sometimes can use their office address to receive personal mail, but they still don't live there.
