My boyfriend's daughters mom got kicked out of her house and now we are keeping his daughter in our house(fine with me she is great) Can I type up a letter stating that she grants him temporary custody of the daughter until further notice? I just want him to be able to take her to the doctor and everything and if she tries to come back and want back child support (it is not court ordered) she cannot have it for the time that we have her. We are paying her daycare and insurance right now as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

He would need a letter from court. Are you,and your boyfriend willing to have perminate custody? While getting it temporary,it is something to think about, and maybe less cofusion later.Good luck.

i went through the same thing when i got custody back of my youngest son back you can type something up but all of you need to sign it in front of a notary of public so it is legal when writing it make sure everything is stated that you guys want in it also make sure you state your boyfriend does not have to give her any child support will you guys have custody and if his daughter is old enough for the mom to get her out ask her to help you guys write the letter it may help her through all of this good luck

without going to court and suing her for custody the only thing you can realy do is write up a letter stating that she is giving him Guardianship and everything is to be outlined in there, that the child will be living with yous, .. the details can be worked out between the two of you's but everything should be written in there.. then both parties must take the document to a Notary and have it notarized, they will be required to show ID at that time also.. now i'm not sure if it works in all states but it is legal her in pennsylvania because I had to do that with my oldest niece when she came to live with us and my parents did the same when she went to live with them because she would no longer live with her father.. good luck..

No you can't type up a bogus letter just to get temporary custody. You can go to jail for that.
