oatmeal, yogurt with fruit, cheerios and fruit, toast with peanut butter and fruit, fruit and cheese with toast, egg and fruit with toast. I try to make sure my baby gets at least 2 iteams from different food groups(fruit and grains, or fruit and protein, ect). I also give my baby milk with every breakfast. I would make sure you are not giving them to big a portion. I would just try to make sure that you are meeting all her needs from the food pryamid.

You could try:

Oatmeal w/ fruit mixed in.
French toast with no syrup or butter
Scrambled Eggs are always a good option.

(A quick way to make a french toast and egg breakfast is to cut out a circle in the middle of the bread. Put the bread in the pan. Fill the hole with an egg. Cook. Flip. Cook. We call this a birds nest... my son loves it. I cut it into long thin strips that my son can grab easily)

The best breakfast has variety in it. A little fruit, some carbs from toast or other grains, and some dairy of some sort. With all of those combinations you will give your toddler a great start to the morning. But don't forget to make it fun. Use cookie cutters to make shapes out of things or even food dyes can make food just a little more enticing. Why not Green Eggs and Ham. I wouldn't eat it but my Son would adore it!

:o)
Best of Luck!

Eggs are good, poached or boiled. (Put a little vinegar in the water if you are poaching eggs, they turn out much better.

Always have fruit or veggies with breakfast. Offer dips. Yogurt and fruit purees are healthy. Also hummus etc. Also you can make caramel dip by boiling a can of condensed milk (leave the milk in the can and the can sealed and boil in a large pot). I think it takes about 4 hours. As far as sugary sauces go it is pretty healthy. Particularly for young kids who still have high levels of lactase to process lactose.

Cobbler is great in the winter. What could be better than warm fruit topped in crunchy oatmeal?

Multigrain cereal, warm or hot. Commerical or homemade.

Bake muffins, if you bake them you can put anything you want in them and reduce the fat. Try replacing half or even all the fat in a recipe with apple sauce, you may be surprised how well they turn out. Carrot, banana. Etc

Make your own turnovers. Freeze them. I find if you put frozen turnovers in non-preheated oven then they bake up pretty well. Just watch them until you know how long they will take. Generally 10 minutes or more longer than the time on the recipe. Better than pop tarts.

Oat flour (you can buy it or just grind oats in the blender) is a great substitution. Use the same amount. It makes baked goods moister. Though it may not work perfectly in yeast bread due to the low gluten. But it is fine for muffins, cookies, cakes and pancakes.

And remember it doesn't need to be breakfast food to eat it in the morning. I love dinner foods for breakfast, and breakfast foods for dinner/lunch. Call me crazy but I hate sugar in the morning (commercial cereals, syrup, etc). I need protein and veggies in the morning.

Pan fry lunch meat slices instead of bacon. Use low fat. It is healthier.

Smoothies... add leafy greens you can barely taste the difference if you add berries or strong tasting fruit. Just tell 'em they are "Shrek" smoothies or something, because they will be green.

Cheese and yogurt are good sources of protein as well.

My toddler loves eating cereal (in milk). Cheerios and Rice Krispies are her favorite.
She loves fruit too, so usually once a week she has just fruit for breakfast (strawberries, bananas, grapes and/or apples).
She also likes applesauce, oatmeal and Malt-O-Meal. I add a little bit of honey to the Malt-O-Meal. I usually add a little brown sugar or some fruit to her oatmeal.
There are also days when she has eggs and toast. Cheese omelettes and scrambled eggs seem to be her favorite.

Eggs are very healthy. They contain essential nutrients which will aid in your child's develpment. Plus, they are easy to make and fun to eat, and you can add you child's favourite food to make breakfastime a snap.

Cheerios and fruit loops are also a popular alternative. Muffins are a good idea too, as you can add fruit and fibre. Or you could try fruit salad...toddlers love it!

Eggs are extremely healthy, actually. Lots of protein in them! Here are some other ideas:

-Simple omelets with just eggs, cheese, and maybe some ham or turkey pieces

-Pancakes or waffles topped with fresh fruit

-Sliced fruit with peanut butter

-Toast cut into strips with a little jam or jelly

-Cereal and milk..can't go wrong with that!

-Oatmeal and granola, maybe mix in some bananas or blueberries

My son is 20 months and he LOVES oatmeal for breakfast. He also enjoys scrambled eggs, bananas and oranges and muffins. Those are all healthy breakfast foods and some even finger friendly!

My 22 month old twins eat:
yogurt (not the kind filled with sugar)
cold cereal with milk (not the sugar-coated kind!!)
fruit (apples, pears, bananas, avocados, clementines)
toast with butter (raisin, whole wheat, and sourdough)
whole milk
cheese
pancakes!!! (they can and have eaten these all day)
french toast

Not at every breakfast, of course, but they are all pretty much staples in my house that can be delivered upon request.

My toddler loves scrambled egg whites and whole wheat toast lightly buttered with olive oil butter. It's something he can eat with his hands if he gets too frustrated with the toddler fork. He also enjoys a handful of Cheerios and applesauce.
