So many of you say the reason gays should not get married is because they can not reproduce. So what about straights who are infertile?

So many of you say the reason gays should not get married is because it is disrespectful to the marital institution. What about murderers, rapists, and atheists who get married? What about YOU, after all you are all sinners. Should only perfect Xians get married?

Dianne C - do you think that only people who repent of their sins should be married?

Gay people can not be equated to straight people who are infertile (although your point is understood).
My reasoning for this is that infertile people have no choice in their ability to procreate, as where a gay does. (Even if it is a specific gene that causes people to be homosexual, there is still a little choice involved).

There is no such thing as a "perfect Xian", a Christian may strive to be perfect, but can not be perfect. So are you suggesting we get rid of marriage all together?

I think people of any background should be afforded the right to be married, personally I may disagree, but I'm not in a position to say definitively who can, and who can't be married.

You are right. We are all sinners. Each and every one of us. But, there's a difference.

If you sin, you are going against God's plan for your life (in your words, "murderers, rapists and atheists), so then you repent (which means, do a turn-around, and reject your old way of living) and turn to Him.

If you have a gay relationship, that is going against God's plan, too, but where's the redemption? So, the sin is unredeemed and is not forgiven, because there is no repentance. It stays a sin.

Gay marriage goes against God's plan. God's unique plan is mother, father and children. A child needs both male and female parents to balance out the family. They learn different things from each parent.

When God created man, He created one woman to be his partner. One woman. He didn't create another man. No. He created a woman.

One man for one woman. That's God's plan, and there's tons and tons of Scripture to back me up on this one.

I think there is nothing wrong with two people who love eachother getting married. I don't care what they have swinging, or not swinging, between their legs.

It is not about the christian view of anything, it is about what the bible say about homosexual relationships.

first of all, let me say, gay marriage is absolutely disgusting! it makes me feel absolutely sick to my stomach. i mean SERIOUSLY. i can't believe what this world is coming to. God designed marriage for ONE woman & ONE man ONLY.
and no one is perfect. everyone is a sinner and we ALL need Jesus.
