Being a former chef and having use it in sauces at 5 star restaurants for years, it is processed slightly different than light or half and half. the butterfat in it makes it more stable. Plus if it does go it will just separate, and can be brought back with a shake, and boiled to.
If you using it for pastrys it will last a week, if cooking with like for sauces or truffles, it can stay a day or 2 longer.

if it smells fine and taste fine, then its probably okay, I would pour some out or stir a little to make sure there are no clumps of any kind, the longest I'll keep cream past exp date is about 2-3 days tops, but I always check it first.

I recently read an article that said most products can go beyond the expirtation date-that that date is a guideline and if a small taste tells you it is ok, then it probably is. I have done that and never gotten ill.
