how many people on here just seem to get harassed by the police without doing any crimes or time. In the last 3 years i have been pulled over at least 5 times not speeding, had insurance, had all my head lights and tail lights. got stopped because they thought they recognized someone in my car, got stopped for driving a rental car that by the way was in my name, got stopped on one of those random routine traffic checks not a road block. How do you avoid the cops when you're not doing anything? I go to work i go home I take care of my son. I work for the state for crying out loud. How do you get them to leave you alone whe you're not messing with them?

I am sorry to hear that. Maybe talk to the police department that belongs to the neighborhood that you are being stop at. This is one of the reasons I do not support alot of things cops do. I also did not vote to increase police in my state. Yes we need cops but most of them are just tickets cops. They should try to concentrate on people who commit real crimes not dumb traffic laws. Good luck.

Sounds like you are being stop due to racial profiling.

Here in Virginia, we have a town called "Colonial Heights". But the nickname for the place is "Colonial Whites". Anyone who is not white and drives thru - gets stopped by the police.

I'm 54 and a white male. Have only been stopped about 3 times. Twice at checkpoints. Once cause I forgot to put my new license plate tags on.

I don't know what you should do to prevent being stopped other than what you are already doing (obeying the law), but remember that these police officers are trying to keep us safe. For all the innocent people they pull over, check, and send on their way, there are numerous guilty people who get stopped. Many of these people would have caused harm to others if not apprehended.

Switch you route home? Are you driving through a high crime area? I had the same problem, I went out and bought one of those I support my local police, and viola, I haven't been pulled over in over a year. Coincidence... I don't think so.
