LimeWire itself is NOT illegal, but it depends on what you are downloading if your using it is illegal. If you are downloading copyrighted music/video/etc. then yes, your use of LimeWire is illegal.

Its not illegal to own limewire and the programme itself is not illegal. However the use of it to download and upload copyrighted material is.

Well I've heard rumors saying that it is and it's not,the recent one was that someone got arrested because they were downloading songs.I don't really know but i do know that if u want a free software that you can download music,download Bearshare Light 5.2.5 Version and it is legal and free.

in a way yes!
because it is basically piracy because there are no certificates to prove that people have the right to share music. a pop up will say this when u try to download something
