I have a copy of Windows XP 64-bit version, and I have a Pentium 4 non-64-bit processor ... can I run the software?

No, not good at all. 64 bit OSs need compatible hardware to work properly. It would be like asking if Windows XP would work on an old commodore, that would be too funny.

Now if you wanted to run a 32 bit OS on a 64 bit processor you could do that. I'm doing that right now.

No.

It is not desinged to run on 32 bit processors. It is only designed to run on 64 bit processors.

64 bit software is designed to run on 64 bit computers.
32 bit software on the otherhand, can run on 64 bit computers, but of course it won't use the extra 32 bits and will be less efficient than if it was designed to run on a 64 bit processor.

It's kind of like asking if something built for Windows XP will run on Windows 98. It's not meant to run on 98 because it was designed for XP. If it does, then your lucky. If it fails, then they can't be held responsible for your actions and if anything on your computer breaks or frys.

You MIGHT be able to, but it would run terribly. I suggest getting Windows XP 32-bit.

Probably not.

Even if it could, there wouldn't be any point in it.
