Everytime I try to work my abs after a few repetitions it feels as though something is popping out of place around my ribs, sometimes you can see something abnormal out of place (but of course I can't tell what it is) When I stretch backwards it pops back into place, but when it happenes is causes lots of pain. It only happens when I work the abs...sometimes during exercise...sometimes sex, no other time...Anyways, It is stopping me from doing some things...I have always exercised, but never have had this until the last year, I put down using my abs (figuring perhaps they needed a rest) and got fat now I am trying to pick exercise back up and the problem is still there. Does anyone have a clue?

Could very well be a hernia. Picture the muscles as being in strings but stuck together. If there is a weak place where they're separated and there is pressure on the abdominal muscles, it allows a portion of the intestinal tubes to squeeze through. A doctor could surgically repair the opening, thus no more pain. Or the hernia could be pinched enough to cut off circulation (strangulation) and allow death of the tissue (gangrene). Look up truss in the dictionary...

hernia !!!!! if im right.....yes the pain does start to bother almost every thing you do..if you have lifted heavy things or stuff like that it's very normal to get hernia. . go to the hospital and they have to operate....and most likely the doctor will say no more lifting things that are over a certain weight....

Blow a good one out and you will feel sooooooooo much better. For future reference quit eating burritos before you work out.
