I need an XP genius...
Suddenly my laptop crashed and will not boot up, it keeps resetting to protect it's self...

I know a bit about computers so I ran in safe mode, no change
I pressed F8 and ran Debug Mode - failed
I pressed F8 and did System Windows Restore and I acctually got it on to the log in pge before it crashed again.
I did system configuration adn it crashed.

The error is:

File: Ntfs.sys
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

I need to disable the BIOS memory Chaching and Shadowing but how do I do this?

You might want to just run MemTest86 to test your RAM. I've had this same problem and it was due to a bad RAM stick.

This error could mean that your memory has developed a fault.
Try removing any additional memory from the trap door underneath the laptop. If theres only 1 memory board in there, you'll need to try with some memory from somewhere else. Otherwise a bit of trial and error swapping memory around to see if one works and one doesn't

Yes... check your RAM for errors this is the most common cause... Other causes could be a corrupted NTFS volume (which could require a clean reinstall) or buggy antivirus software (uninstall and reinstall your antivirus).

Good Luck...
