Alcohol (ethanol) is a poison. Your stomach absorbs alcohol directly into the blood stream. By the time signs of intoxication are visible, it's usually too late to use gastric lavage, which is the medical term for "stomach pumping" to remove the excess alcohol. Activated charcol is the other method used to bind up potential toxins for removal through the intestinal tract.
Narcan only works for opiod narcotics, and has no effects on ethanol poisoning.
In cases of severes ethanol poisoning, where the brain is shutting down, they may try dialysis (filtering the blood) to remove the circulating ethanol.
People have died from 'chugging contests' and other drinking games like inserting as hose and funnel into the victim and pouring drinks directly into the stomach. Your brain cannot deal with the quantity of ethanol in your blood stream (your liver cannot detoxify it fast enough) and the result is cerebral edema (swelling of the brain) coma and death.
Gastric lavage means that a special tube of a large diameter, with two separate channels is inserted through the mouth and directly into the stomach. One tube is used for suctioning out fluids and residues, the other infuses a solution of saline, water or activated charcol.

Can alcohol be stomach pumped?
Yes, obviously if used in a precious time frame, as it would be absorbed. This is often used on Alcohol poisoning.

Defination of Stomach Pumping:
A suction pump with a flexible tube inserted into the stomach through the mouth and esophagus to empty the stomach in an emergency, as in a case of poisoning.

theoretically they can remove the contents of the stomach but i dont think they do that for excessive alcohol drinking.. by pumping the stomach is what's called gastric lavage.. usually they do that for poisoning or ingestion (but not so much nowadays..)

if someone drank too much alcohol, sooner or later, he'll excrete it by urinating.. just make sure he takes enough water..

they're the two incorrect. Your liver metabolizes alcohol. in case you drink adequate alcohol, you will throw up. in case you drink much greater alcohol, greater alcohol than your physique can cope with, then you definately want medical care. in case you threw up, you do no longer want your abdomen pumped. yet you're able to desire to circulate trouble-free on the alcohol interior the destiny.
