You are so right, she does need help. If you are in school, talk to your counselor or a trusted teacher, maybe they can help you. I don't know if you are a child, but if so calling the "child protection service" could be a last resort to get help. They will be concerned for you, but in the process will get her some help. It sound like she is already mad a lot of the time, so in an effort to get her help if may be worth letting her get mad.

Be careful, good luck! Your Mom is lucky to have someone who cares.

Often times people that have sunk far into their problems (especially mental problems) don't realize how bad off they are and how much they need help. Anything you do to try and help will most likely make her mad, but you have to stop and think about something, what is more important, not making your mother mad or getting her the help that she needs? Although she may be upset at first, once she has received help and gets on the road to recovery or recuperation, she will realize how much you love and care for her by getting her help. You should talk to a local doctor, hospital, psychiatrist, counselor, teacher, or police department about the problems you are experiencing with your mother. They can offer you resources and their expertise as well. They may also be able to help you stage some sort of intervention. Although it may be difficult making your mother upset by getting her help, in the long run it will be worth it.

My mother-in-law did this too! We had to go see the Doctor that gave her the lithium and he wrote something up that enabled us to have the Sheriff pick her up and take her the doctor. The Doc then gave her a shot which lasted 10 days I believe. It was so much easier then getting her to take her pills.

Your mom could have a Thyroid condition as it can mimic mental symptoms. Ask her to have her Thyroid checked.
If she won't try an alternative med for the Thyroid.

The Thyroid regulates all of the other hormones in the body. Do your research.

Hi have you got grandparents to talk to or maybe another family member.Your mom needs the right medication to help her. You could always contact her doctor and tell them whats happening. Or better still speak to your own doctor, they will be able to help. Lithium needs to be monitored by the doctor on a regular basis. And it is quite common for people to relapse, your mom wont even think theres a problem. So you need to get outside help im afraid. She will understand why you did, when she is well.

As you mention that your mon is suffering from bipolar disorder;manic-depressive disorder. Her mood can swing from manic status then down to depressive status.During manic status she could be lose touch of the reality(crazy in ext.case)when depressive status she could become suicidal. The treatment is use mood stable medicine;lithium. is one of these. You should try to tell those people she trust;such as her family doctor, sisters, your father church member about how sever the situation is and advice to see a health care provider. If case going to very extreme you can call policy to commite her to facility for emergency treatment.Don't feel bad it is for her and and other people ..

if your still in school talk to you guidence conselor at school. the situation you are in is unhealthy. You shouldnt have to worry about your mom if you are young. If you still live with her get out anyway you can.

If your out of high school and living outside the home. I would then suggest asking her to get help. But if your still living with her. you need to get out before you get hurt or even worse.

When your mom is acting as nice as she gets, friendly offer hew help... If she blows up stop immediatley an just remind her you are there for her. If she is happy, though she may be willing to talk and listen to your needs.
