As a person with dry brittle thick hair there are a couple of things that I use and love. There is Ion shampoo and conditioner that you can purchase at Sally's beauty Salon. I use the deep moisture shampoo and conditioner and then the deep moisture treatment pack once a week. Sunsilk also has a great products for dry curly hair, with that one you need to play around to find the one that most meets your needs. You can also try wetting down your hair so that it is just damp, then adding mayo into your hair cover with a plastic cap and leave it for one hour rinse out completely then wash and condition as normal. The only downfall to this is you smell like mayo while you do it and it takes so long.

Creamy shampoos Creamy shampoos are a better bet than clarifying (or clear) shampoos.

Two types of conditioners You simply cannot overcondition frizzy hair. You need a heavy conditioner for use every time you wash your hair, and a deep conditioner for use once a week.

Smoothing cream and alcohol-free gel From the minute you step out of the shower, you need to coat the cuticle so it locks out moisture.

Get the Right Haircut

Curly hair needs length to weigh curls down. Your best cut will be medium to long, with layers cut in to alleviate some of the fullness. What you don't want is a blunt cut, which means a ton of fullness on the bottom -- a very dated look. Instead, ask for layers starting at your upper lip, gradually angled back.

Curly hair has a tendency to be brittle. Try a really good salon recommended moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, then follow up with a soothing serum. If you are using a flat iron be sure to use a thermal protectant.

Hi! I have suggested this once before. I was a beauty school student. We used a conditioner called cholesterol. There are many brands, the one i use is Queen helene. You can buy it at most beauty supply stores. They may have it at walmart, target even walgreens! wash your hair. Generously rub into the scalp, and all over the hair.I would put a plastic bag over your hair. leave the bag on for a while, rinse. I have the same type of hair, thick and i color it. coloring dry's it out! Good Luck Dorothy

when hair is that dry,DO NOT shampoo every day,I have same dry hair.If you can ,Pay a little more and get mild shampoo for your hair type, Once a month I use olive oil,rub it in wet hair, the longer you leave it in the better results.Try different brands of hair products.I found Nexus, products, work the best on my dry hair.Good luck.
