They have things listed on the cover to draw you in but you read through them and it's 800 pages of dress ads, not 800 pages of ideas that they tell you is inside.

I find that really irritating too. The cover has 6 or 7 article "teasers" and the actual article turns out to be one page at most. It's really just a huge advertisement hidden under the guise of a magazine. Although, I have found them very helpful when looking for dress and bridesmaid styles.

I feel your pain. They are hardly useful for the everyday bride. And by everyday I mean those of us that aren't going to spend a half mill to get married. All they do is put things in our heads that don't work in real life-like advertising a dress with a bow that has an eight foot wing span. I guess the advertisers pay enough to get a page in their mag they don't have to spend any time on the issues content.
Anyways-good luck, congrats, enjoy your day and do it your way.

To me these magazines are a huge rip off, I did end up buying a few, but they always all had the same content. Try researching on websites for ideas like theknot.com. theweddingchnnel.com, or even brides.com. They have lots of pictures and ideas and theknot.com has some great articles too. Easy to save and print stuff on your own and guess what? It's free...lol.

Its all about selling in magazines. less about content. They feel that they can get us to waste the $6.00 and by the pictures we are going to run out and buy that Platinum wedding ensemble, and that $5000 dress and dont forget make the rest of us feel inadequate because we cant have the 300k wedding....

oh well- I usually scan them at the counter before buying... Sometimes the 2 or 3 real articles make it worth it, but if not I dont even waste my time.

Aren't most magazines like that????? I don't know, I usually get my bridal magazines at places where I can kinda thumb through the information and then decide if its a wise buy or not.
