on the back its really red and swollen. it feels like it has some kind of liquid in it.....kinda like a boil...

Sounds like you have an infection. See the doc and get this checked out.

It sounds like an infection. I would have it checked out by a doctor. If you cant afford a doctor bathe it with salt and water or peroxide. Apply a disinfectant cream after bathing.

Are you cleaning your piercing daily? Even though it's been awhile, sometimes it can take up to 8 months for your ear to get used to the piercing. I recommend cleaning your ear everytime you shower with Dial (or any antibacteria soap, but Dials works for me). Iodine will keep your ear from pussing up even more. Stay away from hydrogen peroxide or alcohol, as it can close up your cartiledge piercing.

possible a boil or some type infection is it hot to the touch or tender.
as soon as possible make a appointment with your Dr so you can possible take oral antibiotic's.
