My partner is crew at BA (having worked with several airlines over the years). She took one of the courses similar to the site you mention and didn't find it too useful.

The basic premise is that they can prepare you for interviews. Information about flying is provided during your training with the airlines. Some airlines even prefer (at some recruitment points) to take in fresh entrants with no preconceptions or prior-knowledge.

For the money, it might be useful to read some tips on the interview process and perhaps understand a bit more about the demands of working as crew. It's a demanding role and not for everyone. I also don't think there are many secrets to landing a job as crew.

Once you are sure it's for you, apply for the airlines that you most like. Check the minimum requirements (height, maybe language) and don't be surprised if you have to apply and interview several times before being offered a provisional placement. Keep in mind that recruitment usually happens at key points throughout the year - once you miss one intake, that's it until maybe 6 months to a year later. Usually you will send in an application form and two photos - face and full body.

Generally speaking, the seasonal jobs with charters are the easiest placements to land - but you aren't guaranteed a permanent job and you might find the working pattern to be quite a bit different than you would get with a scheduled airline.

Once you do interview, dress appropriately for the airline you are visiting but don't go in costume (I've heard the stories of people who turn up in mock-uniform); learn about the company and the way if presents itself; be prepared for team exercises; smile and be confident, but ask questions.
