what is the difference between lcd or plasma. which is the better choice for clear picture

LCD - they do not get screen burn, and they are lighter and have a great picture

Plasma have a sort of shadow effect when there are fast moving objects -- the images sort of trails. Plasmas are lighter than LCD, and the colors are a bit richer. Also, LCD screens produce less glare, so if it will be in a bright room, you should go with an LCD screen.

What do you mean by clear picture? LCD's have higher resolution, but suffer from video lag that causes blurriness from fast moving images.
Plasmas do not suffer from video lag but do not have the high resolution like LCD units do. However, plasmas can suffer from image burn in if a static image is left on for too long.
I personally chose a plasma unit because of the problems with fast moving images on LCD units. ( make sure you are comparing sets of similar pricing ) I'm sure I could have been happy with an expensive LCD unit that had less video lag but I'm not about to spend $1000 to $3000 more just for that.

Plasma - I have a 50 inch samsung and I compared it to lcd of comparable size and I couldn't get a good lcd for nowhere near the same price. picture is perfect, not like looking through a screen door and it has an anti-glare coating that does not im pede the view. It weighs 99lbs so the wall mount costs alittle more. Had it for 4 months now and my electric bill hasn't went up.

I chose LCD because it is more reliable and now they respond just as fast as plasma so there is no pixelation I have had it a year and still think I made the right choice

Plasmas to me always looks like looking through a screen door.
I got a DLP that I am very happy with but the LCD TFT displays are the way to go now.
They make LCD TFT displays up to 60 inch.
TFT (thin-film-transistor) are like the computer monitors and are flat and hang on the wall.
Just make sure that you get a no dead pixel guarantee.

LCD- we got one a few months ago and love it!!! The plasma gives a glare-lcd doesn't.

plasma more expensive not good for gaming. lcd a litttle brighter and affordable if you want a big one 50" or larger
