Is it ok for an eight year old cat...?

To eat progresso soup? She really likes it because she jumped on my table and tryed to lick it. Thanx!

I know people say kittens should not eat people food, my little kitty looks at me, tilts her head and begs while I eat. I can't stand it. I am a softie. I have given her green olives, she ate them. She likes lettuce, little pieces of pizza crust, spaghetti noodles.
Please don't think I am a bad cat owner, these are in small amounts, just so she can taste them. I thought she would smell them and then go away and let me eat in peace, but she tried them.

I would say it is NOT. Progresso soup I am sure contains onion and any onion is TOXIC to a cat. Though the amount in the soup may be small over time the onion can cause a fatal anemia in a cat. Garlic not good either as it is in the same plant family as onion.

There is nothing wrong with eating your soup. It has the same things in it her dinner has in it. the only problem I can see in giving it to her on a regular basis is the salt.
There could be something she is missing in her diet that your soup smelled like it may have--usually things like carrots and such appeal to indoor animals for it is something they can smell as a vegetable--they have a need for the grasses and such to keep them healthy. Try growing a pot pf grass for her to nibble on since it is winter...

I really think you should'nt let your cat eat your soup. human food is not always acceptable to our pets(lol.sometimes not even us humans)But I have researched a sight for you so you can actually see how many very toxic things there are out there for your pet.
