Give out Lottery Tickets as party favors

Put those disposable cameras on each table so guests can snap pictures of the reception and you can use them in your wedding album

Instead of just having a guest book do a photo guest book. Have each guest bring a photo of themselves to add to the book (It can be really cute if some people bring baby/child pics of themselves)

Go with a theme. A rock and roll theme where the groom wears leather would go good with a red wedding dress as would a Big Band 40's type wedding.

Instead of buying expensive invitations make them and hand deliver them. It really adds a personal and special touch.

After you are announced as Husband and wife and walk down the isle together walk back and escort your parents down the isle instead of having the ushers do it. Your parents will be surprised and touched and people will think it's a great gesture.

For an wedding in the evening have the bridesmaids carry red crystal candle holders. You can choose to add flowers around them or not but the soft glow of the candle with the lights down in the chapel low will be a nice touch.

If you will have lots of kids at the reception set up special "kids" tables with lots of balloons, coloring books and crayons, small puzzles and games for them to play to keep them entertained (receptions can be really dull for little kids)

For a little extra fun in the ceremony have your flower girl and/or ring bearer ride down the aisle on tricycles or have one of the best men or bridesmaids pull them in red wagons.

Instead of throwing rice buy little bottles of bubbles and give one to each guest. It makes less of a mess then the traditional rice and gives each person something to take home. Better yet, for an evening wedding give each guest a few Fireworks Sparklers. You can also have them burn the Sparklers while you do the first dance with all the lights in the reception hall off...how romantic.

Instead of standing at the front of the isle facing the preacher turn things around and have the preacher stand off to the side and the bride and groom face the audience.

Don't have a traditional bouquet. Instead have each person sitting along the isle hand you a flower and then have your dad (or the person giving you away) tie a ribbon around it when you get to the top of the isle . You could also carry an empty flower basket and have each person place the flower in there.

If you will light a unity candle give each guest a small taper candle and once the unity candle is lit you and your husband go to each others parents (grooms to brides parents, bride to grooms parents) and light their candles then have them "pass" the flame around until all the candles are lit.

Get a favorite picture of you and the groom blown up and provide colored pens at the reception for guest to sign their best wishes on it. Great idea to use instead of a traditional guest book.

Instead of the traditional throwing of the bouquet by the bride when you turn around have the maid of honor hand you a bunch of individual white roses with one red one. When you throw them over your shoulder they will separate in a lovely cascade and the girl who catches the red one will be the "winner"

I hope you like these ideas. I wish you a life full of happiness and precious memories.

My aunt works for a large catering company in my area. There have been weddings where there was a sundae bar rather than a wedding cake. Do you plan to get married in a church or some other location...that's definitely something you need to take into consideration when planning a unique wedding. Right now, I'm researching army weddings as that's what we are going to do.

Depending on how much you want to spend and the theme of your wedding. I see you have the red wedding dress. Get a red and silver decorated cake made like your dress if you have any design on your dress. Also plan your wedding around you and your finace' as to what you like not what everyone likes. You do not have to wow everyone! YOU NEED TO CAPTURE AND ENJOY THE MOMENT OF EACH OTHER! THIS IS YALLS DAY NOT THEIRS!

For my wedding I wanted something different too and I didnot want to walk down the isle to the normal there comes the bride. So I walked down the isle the isle with my mom and dad with the song "The Wedding Song" written by Noel Stooky. From Peter, Paul, and Mary. Which is different. Also I am going to be traded off during the wedding ceromony. Its hard to explain on here. All the groomsman are going to be putting on baseball hats with their titles that they wore during rehearsal and my dad and my finace' are going to trade me off like baseball trade off. They are baseball fans and then my finace is going to give my dad either a baseball or a small baseball bat that is engraved to remember the day. We have not worked out the kinks yet. Even my garter is baseball themed and part of the recepetion because we are having peanuts and cracker jacks on the tables.

Red and silver is easy to work with. Much easier than my celedon color. I am sure you can come up with something that you and your finace a say I like. I want that. Watch the bride tv shows they always give ya ideas. Sometimes they are expensive ideas but there are ways you can cut costs around those ideas by buying a much cheaper modeal or making your own. I know I have gotten alot of things at discount stores or even thirft stores.

There are many ways to go around uniqueness but what are you looking for. For the cermony or the reception? Or the big Picture? I can come up with alot. The cake is the easiest, songs have the best dj or band avail, dresses, decorations, and locations, where are you located at is the biggest (you might opt out of having a big reception and having a all dessert reception, a fondue one, hors d' oevurve one. Do what suites you.

I don't know how easy it would be to find, but our wedding had a 'wow' effect because of our DJ. They give out different props throughout the reception... police, fire, indiana hats for the YMCA, blow up guitars and keyboards, feather boas, sombreros, maraccas, whistles, glowsticks, balloons etc etc. It made the dance a ton of fun and everyone came away with more than just our favors because they got to keep the props. And the pictures are great because of how crazy everyone went with the props! How many opportunites do you get a picture of your father in law with a sombrero and a pink feather boa playing on a blow up guitar. It was great!

Another fun thing the DJ did was a special kids throw. They got a blanket and stretched it out, piled it with candy and threw it out for all the kids to grab.

When I was looking for unique ideas for my own wedding, I saw these on ebay. You can go to ebay and search "wedding ceiling", and there are always a few options-try it-it's phenomenal. I'd have added links, but they were way too long and something was lost in the translation.

I can imagine your guests raving over this particular decoration for years to come, and it's very inexpensive considering the effect.

Congratulations.

Because we spend so much money on items, we tend to put our thought & energy into these, which is very normal.
But experience tells me that those couples who spend a few extra minutes on the "do you take' part feel their time was spent wisely. Your ceremony is the highpoint of the wedding. Make it one you & your guests will remember.

Don't do a wedding cake. Have a fun dessert instead. Have some wonderful music at the reception.

Why worry about the uniqueness, guests or the wedding.

Focus on the marriage.
