I would suggest trying that Delsum I believe that is what it is called, I can't think off the top of my head. That is supposed to suppress the cough for 12 hours or so. I would definitely suggest taking your daughter to the doctor. That seems weird that she has had a cough for so long accompanied by a fever. I know when I was in 5th grade I would have a persistent cough and I was told that it was because from me coughing before and since it was a dry cough it scratched my throat. I would hold them in and drink lots of water. My eyes would water extremely bad because I could barely handle it it itched so bad. But I got over it. I get it every now and than but it eventually goes away. Like I said though I would have her looked at.

My whole family suffererd from this last summer and the only thing that helped was penisilin those of us who are allergic had to suffer it out for almost 2 months so if she can take penisilin ask for that also try mixing honey and lemon together like a cough syrup she can take it as many times as she needs to it helps alot it sooths the truth and stops the cough for a while

Not sure where you are in respect to weather, but you might want to consider investing in a humidifier for your daughter. If you are in a place where it's cold this time of year, I suspect the heat in your house/apartment is drying out the air and contributing to her cough.
If it is a really nasty sounding cough, it is probably croup.

If she has the fever why are you waiting to take her to the doc???? Take her to the doc now and get off of your computer at work. Her immune system is obviously weak from being sick so long so get her to the doc now and not later.
