Hi Cara...if your cat hasn't been spayed she may very well be in heat. Cats reach sexual maturity over the age of 5-7 months. Unspayed cats will caterwaul for hours on end as they are telling male cats they are receptive to be mated. Having her spayed will resolve the caterwaulings.
Most shelters worldwide offer low fee and even some free spay services. USA residents can ring 1-800 SPAY USA http://spayusa.org to locat a participating nearby shelter. Another list of low fee/free spay service shelters: http://www.petsandanimals.org/spayneuter_services.html

Simple answer is NO!Cats are opportunists and absolute thieves.they make no distinction between animal or human food or what Nationality the food is.it is FOOD and if left where they can get to it they will steal. l breed siamese and l assure you no food is left anywhere they can get their little mouths and paws into. They cannot open the fridge or freezer and all food to be defrosted has to be done in the Laundry which luckily is in the Laundry they have absolute no access to otherwise no food would be left. The msg and salt content in the Chinese may give them the runs or they may throw up but your cat had a super experience and must be most satisfied. Next time you will learn Nevir leave any food where a cat or dog can get to it let alone children. My siamese figured out how to open the Pedestal rubbish bin b ut the dogs learned quicker than them so they had good times until l worked out what was going on and now any rubbish or left over food is turfed out into the outside rubbish bin or for mulch For the cat's sake make sure you leave out plenty of water as they salt and msg as mentioned above will increase the cat's need for extra water but l can assure you if the cat did not like it it would have thrown up by now. By the way they do NOT outgrow this behaviour.

some cats do it for attention, since night is there playtime. I read if you pick them up this late at night.........its like rewarding them for Meowing and being freakin annoying. Thus, she will continue to meow. You should invest in a squirt bottle or make her a nice play area away from the bedroom or let her outside.

Ignore the insanely rude person that said to shoot your cat...that guy should shoot himself
I had that problem with my kitten too. What I did was put a shoebox next to my bed and my kitten always loved to snuggle up in it, this makes them feel safe and secure. Whenever she wakes up meowing in her bed, just dangle your hand off the side of your bed and pet her lightly until she goes back to sleep. Worked like a charm for my kitten!!
I imagine this won't work for all kittens but it's worth a shot

Honestly get used to it, lol.
Just kidding.
You can try some new toys. Or try disciplining her to let her know it's bad. The only other thing is to just ignore her. They usually do this because they are craving attention, if you pick her up and pet her when she cries it's like you're saying "when you want attention, cry." That's how they look at it. Think of cats like toddlers that never truly grow up and never learn to speak. Most of the same rules apply.

She is in season, get her spayed when she finishes and before the next one, usually every 4 weeks, the calling gets louder and she will start to mark her teritory (weeing everywhere).

Maybe she's in heat. Take her to the vet and get her spayed. Spray her with water, if spaying her doesnt work. We do this with our cats, and now they are quiet! Good luck.
